Thank you so much for the overwhelming support!

We ran one of the closest 2 way township races in the County. This race was decided by such a small margin. By 2% of Boardman’s population.

For so long I have heard residents of Boardman say that they don’t vote because nothing will change.

To the 3,038 that put their faith in my campaign, I sincerely appreciate your support, calls text and emails.

As a candidate this race consumed so much of my time, effort and resources. It has not reduced my passion to serve the community. It takes an extremely high level of commitment to put your name out to the public, to put a message out, and to research the true and important issues facing the community.

To the 2% I do not know if knocking on your door, or sending you a letter would have changed your vote. I can look back and say maybe I should have knocked on 10 more doors each day, but at the end of it all I know I put in my full effort for Boardman.

I can’t thank everyone enough, we showed that we support change, and accountability in our leadership.

To my opponent, and his supporters, I held my head up high and stuck to facts, I didn’t twist words or spread less than honest information. I know the race I ran was one of honesty and integrity. What I experienced in return are stories for another day.

To the volunteers, you helped spread our message every day, you helped build our campaign to what it is today.

With Election day just a week away we are in the final count down of the campaign! Every vote counts and we can use your help to this race. There are 12 polling locations and we can not cover all of them alone. If you are able to help for the day, or even just an hour we can use your help. Below is a list of all locations, Polls open November 5th at 6:30 am and close at 7:30 pm. Boardman Civic Association Candidate Night

First before getting into the details of the event I want to thank Boardman Civic Association for putting this together and BSNT for filming the night. you can watch the complete video of the event here

Please watch the video and be the judge, there will be some back and forth comments and questions of all candidates. The Fiscal officer portion starts at 35:17 Mr. Leicht starts out by reprimanding one of the candidates running for Trustee.

$28 million is not the budget in Boardman Township, and if you are lucky enough to get elected to this township you’re going to sit with me so you can learn how to read…”

However the information that he tried to “straighten out” was in fact the information that has been shared by his office as public record to the residents. The budget can be found on the township page.

In a WKBN article from 9/17/19 it was brought to light that the information shared by our current Fiscal Officer was in fact not correct, and that the budget on the website was misleading and would be corrected. It is now 10/3/19 and this information is still what is available to the public The most recent month being July, further this is the same type of information that is submitted to the state auditor for our annual budget.

Perhaps it is time to have a Fiscal Officer that knows the facts, and knows the numbers before going off and publicly demeaning a citizen.

Join us Sunday September 8th from 3:00 to 5:00 at Camelot lanes in Boardman for a Rally and Fundraiser to kick of the Campaign for David Moliterno for Fiscal Officer.

There is still so much work to do.

With just 60 days to the Election there is much to do. Votes can be cast as early as Oct. 8th, which means I am looking for your support to help spread the word. I can use your help with Yard Signs, Fundraising, and Volunteering.

I am looking to get in front of over 6,000 voters before the Election. In order to make that happen I need help getting signs out and setting a goal of visiting 100 houses per day with door hangers and flyers. If you are able to help or would like to set up a day to walk your neighborhood together please reach out and let me know.

Am I Registered to Vote?

One common mistake we see around Election time is whether or not you are registered to vote, maybe you moved or just haven’t been to the polls in some time. We will list a few resources to help make sure you are registered and ready to vote in November.

Check your current Registration

One easy step you can take is to see if you are registered and if you are registered at the correct address by heading to the Voter Information Search

Search by last name to find if your voter registration is up to date.

From here you can request an absentee ballot, find your polling location, become a poll worker, or see what the sample ballot looks like when its available.

You can also see If you voted up to the last 20 elections.

How do I register or change my information?

If you happened to do the a search and cant find yourself, or need to update your information you can do so by heading over to the Ohio Secretary of State Website

You must register or update your voter registration no later than 30 days prior to an election. Upcoming voter registration deadlines:

  • October 7, 2019 for the November 5, 2019 General Election

If you register or update your information after the deadline, the change will apply for the next election.

WHAT YOU NEED

To register online you will need to provide the following:

  • Ohio driver’s license or Ohio identification card number
  • Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Address
  • Last four digits of your Social Security number

I can’t make it to the polls

No problem, starting October 8, 2019 Absentee voting by mail opens.

If you want to take this rout you can follow this link and head over to the Mahoning County Board of Elections Page and complete the from provided to request your Absentee ballot.

Make sure you vote

No matter who you vote for or how you vote on the issues it is important that you do, it is your responsibility to make sure your voice is heard and that you make a positive impact on the community around you.

Boardman Audit “an overstatement of $115,683.”

Take a quick look at the State Audit of Boardman Township. Not only will you find many weaknesses but included in that is an oversight of $115k!

“To help ensure the Township’s financial statements are complete and accurate, the Township should adopt policies and procedures to identify and correct errors and omissions. In addition, the Township should review the financial statements and notes prior to submission for audit.” Find the full report here.

“The Deposits and Investments did not reflect the accurate amounts, resulting in an overstatement of $115,683.“

Boardman is in need of new policies to make sure this does not happen again. An overstatement in your budget could be catastrophic. An error such as this easily results in overspending or misused funds. Boardman needs to be held to the same standards as you and me.

After trying to look deeper into the issue I came across the Ohio Open Checkbook. Instead of finding details about the 2017 audit, instead I was greeted with a big empty hole for the entire years financial report. Where most of the years Open Checkbook has information 2017 has hardly any financial record. We need to work to have a more transparent financial record and more accountability.

If elected Fiscal Officer of Boardman Township, I will

  • Strive to make our budget more transparent
  • Assist each department to help secure additional grant funds
  • Work to reduce the need for future levies, to help you keep more of the money you deserve.
